Shoe/Motorcycle Street

Today's motorcycle street was formed as the stores related to motorcycles increased with the beginning of the 'Seoul Motorcycle Store' in 1961 and operates majority of the motorcycle stores in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk region. As the nation's famous motorcycle street along with the motorcycle shops of Seoul and Daejeon, approximately 50 shops are currently open to sell various types of motorcycles at low prices.

Old Location of Samsung

The Samsung Group was established by the late Mr. LEE Byung-chul in 1938. Afterwards, he established Cheiljedang and Cheil Industries and took over Ankuk Insurance and Dongbu Life to develop as the great corporation with 59 different subsidiary companies. A museum was built to increase the significance of establishment but was closed in 2000 and the Jung-gu Office is currently placing great efforts to build tourist attractions through the preservation of Samsung Corporation.

Located approximately 200m away from Samsung Corporation, this is where LEE Kun-hee, CEO of Samsung Industries had once resided.


Shoe Street_
Street that Actualized the Dreams of Textile

of Bonjuh Tea House and Dalsung Park! Large markets were held here since the Chosun period and since the merchants filled this street with their horses, it is also called the Horse Street. After 1965, the textile industry of Daegu expanded and at the present time, textile factories and yarn stories have entered into the street and at the present time, shoe stores fill the streets.


Tool Shopping District of Ingyo-dong

Around the year 1947 when domestic tools were not produced, 11 merchants began selling the old tools that were disposed from the U.S. Army bases and gradually, the shops began to expand for a total of 23 stores in the 1950s and at the present time, this complex is called the 'Daegu's Industrial Tool Street.'
