Bongsan Cultural Center

The 'Bongsan Cultural Street' is the place where cultural events and communication are held. Building the space to blend by actively accommodate these two factors is the basic thought of the plan. The building is divided into the performance cultural space on the left side and the exhibition cultural space on the right side. Also, it was built to feel gentleness and friendliness by processing the exterior of the exhibition hall in curved surfaces.

Geobuk Bawie

The origin of the Geobuk Bawie, located in the field of Cheil Middle School, can be largely divided into two. First, there is the assumption that after examining the geographical vein while finding the town in Daegu, the spirit that flows from the south to the north was said to separate in this mountain and therefore, a turtle was made out of rocks to point its head towards the north and tail to the south to let the spirit flow easily. Second, there is the assumption that the location of Cheil Middle School had been the place of Seonangdang(shrine to the village deity) and the turtle was made on the top of the mountain because there were many occurrences of fire and the turtle was known as the complete opposite of fire.

Gundeul Bawie_ Monument #2 of Daegu

This is a boulder that greatly reveals the geographical structure of Daegu basin along with the cliff next to it and is also called the Satgat Bawie(Traditional Hat Boulder) because its' shape reminds people of an old man wearing a satgat. 200 years ago, it is said to have been a famous attraction where people enjoyed fishing due to its clean and deep waters.

Media Sky Bongsan Sky

This was installed by Jung-gu Office with the city of Daegu on June 28th 2010 to strengthening the location of Bongsan Cultural Street and to commemorate the 2011 World Track and Field Championships. Although the Bongsan Cultural Street holds the significance that it is the most famous cultural street of Daegu, it carried a rather small and narrow feeling of an entrance. Therefore, the sky space was used to express the romance and dreams of the street and express the futuristic visions, activeness and identity of the cultural street.
